Deformation of the free surface by the vortices shedding from a circular cylinder (2)

This movie shows the flow behavior around moving cylinders. For circular cylinders, the free surface is deformed by the vortices shedding from the cylinder. Because two rows of vortices are regularly generated from either side of the cylinder, intermittent entrainment and mixing occurs around the interface.
