Field of a physical variable

A set of values for physical variable (temperature, velocity, etc.) at all points in any region in space at a given instant of time.
Comment. If the field of a physical variable changes with time, it is called a "nonstationary (unsteady) field of a physical variable," and in the opposite case, a "stationary (steady) field of a physical variable."
