Euler number, Eu, represents the nondimensional relationship between pressure drop and momentum in fluid flow

where ρ is fluid density and u, fluid velocity. Stated differently, Eu represents the static pressure loss divided by two velocity heads.

An alternative form of Euler number is sometimes used, which represents 2 × fanning friction factor.
