Separation of solid particles from water flow using a gravitational separator I

The movie show performance of the new separation method. The essence of this separation method consists in the use of a special motion mode of the separated medium, when the medium flows horizontally through the lattice, composed of a great number of thin layers, formed by parallel (or almost parallel) planes with a gap between them. At a small Reynolds number, the laminar mode of the carrier liquid or gas flow in the direction of the imposed pressure gradient is implemented. Under the action of gravity (or centrifugal) force, the denser particles shift perpendicular to the liquid flow, precipitate on the lower wall of the area, and are withdrawn through special holes to the receiving bin and then to the outlet pipeline. The purified liquid (gas) is withdrawn through the collector at the opposite end of the working area.
