Catalytic surface

Surface of a body (a wall) on which a catalytic reaction takes place in a chemically reacting mixture in contact with the surface.
Comment. If the rate of the catalytic reaction is so low that the composition of themixture on the surface is governed completely by diffusion and convection processes (not connected with reaction at the wall), this surface is called a "noncatalytic surface."
