Coefficient of thermal conductivity

A physical parameter characterizing intensity of heat conduction in a substance; it is numerically equal to the conductive heat flux density due at a temperature gradient of unity.
Comment. The coefficient of thermal conductivity of an anisotropic substance depends on the direction from a specific point; it reaches external values along three mutually orthogonal directions, called the principal axes of heat conduction.
